Blue Jackets Victorious Over Ducks in OT, Snapping Frustrating Losing Streak with Decisive Win.

The Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 in overtime on Tuesday night, bringing an end to their five-game losing streak. Rookie Adam Fantilli scored the game-winning goal 3:32 into overtime, securing the victory for the Blue Jackets.

The game saw Zach Werenski have a standout performance, scoring two goals and adding an assist in his 600th NHL game. Boone Jenner also contributed with a goal and an assist, while Kent Johnson chipped in with two assists. Goaltender Jet Greaves made 25 saves, earning his first win since November 20.

For the Ducks, Mikael Granlund had a goal and an assist, while Ryan Strome and Jackson LaCombe also scored. Ryan Poehling recorded two assists. Ville Husso stopped 24 shots in the loss.

Werenski opened the scoring for the Blue Jackets at 8:21 of the first period, with Jenner providing the assist. The second period saw a flurry of goals, with the two teams combining for four goals in under two minutes. Strome scored for the Ducks at 3:35, tying the game 1-1. Werenski then scored his second of the night 24 seconds later, followed by Jenner at 4:18, extending the Blue Jackets' lead to 3-1. Granlund brought the Ducks within one at 5:29.

With just over three minutes remaining in the third period, LaCombe tied the game at 3-3, forcing overtime. Fantilli then scored the decisive goal in overtime, securing the win for Columbus. Fantilli's unassisted goal came on a one-on-one against Ducks defenseman Olen Zellweger. He carried the puck into the Anaheim zone with speed before beating Husso.

The Blue Jackets had been struggling, having lost their previous five games. This win marked their first over the Ducks in Nationwide Arena since December 1, 2017. The Blue Jackets killed off four penalties, which the players said uplifted the bench. The Ducks concluded their five-game road trip with a 2-2-1 record.
